Miniature Kangaroo Stockwhip

Our most recently completed whip is a miniature. The half plait handle is in 8 plait, and the tiny working keeper is bound on with a real French grapevine. The 4 plait thong starts with a swing belly and ends in a standard fall hitch with a replaceable fall and replaceable mini nylon popper/cracker.

Nylon Reins Repair

Some friends of ours bought these inexpensive nylon reins at a local tack shop, and were happy enough with them except for the ends which were burned off into big sharp-edged wedges of melted nylon. They were worried that this might irritate their horse’s skin over time, so they asked us to tie a couple of simple paracord turks head knots over the sharp sections, as you can see in the photo above. Problem solved!

At MidWestWhips, our main focus is and has always been whips, but we are happy to help repair some pieces of braided tack, including but not limited to braided nylon or leather reins and riding whips and crops that need reconditioning, replacement thongs, or other repairs. Indiana Jones Bullwhip Coil Comparison

We finished four Indiana Jones Style Bullwhips in four different lengths within a few days of each other, and decided to take the opportunity to snap this photograph showing a direct size and coil comparison. All four of these whips share the same handle length, plait count, knot types, wristloops, etc. The only difference between them is the length of the thong.

4ft Bullwhips and a Quirt

This is a small shipment of whips we sent to Western Stage Props, a retail company based in Las Vegas that we have been providing whips to for over 10 years. This package included three Lil’ Indy whips (two saddle tan and and one black) and one saddle tan Dog Quirt.
