Nylon Reins Repair

Nylon Reins RepairSome friends of ours bought these inexpensive nylon reins at a local tack shop, and were happy enough with them except for the ends which were burned off into big sharp-edged wedges of melted nylon.  They were worried that this might irritate their horse’s skin over time, so they asked us to tie a couple of simple paracord turks head knots over the sharp sections, as you can see in the photo above.  Problem solved!

At MidWestWhips, our main focus is and has always been whips, but we are happy to help repair some pieces of braided tack, including but not limited to braided nylon or leather reins and riding whips and crops that need reconditioning, replacement thongs, or other repairs.  Just email us at whipmaker@midwestwhips.com to ask for an estimate, and be sure to include some digital photos of the problem area if you can.
